The well-publicized iFund of Kleiner Perkins which is looking for iPhone applications and developers, is investing an undisclosed amount into the stealth gaming startup ngmoco, which is founded by ex-EA person Neil Young (no, not the rock star).

While sitting pretty on a cash pile of about $12.7 Billion dollars, Google is extending into the VC market with a big fund (amount unknown) and led by senior vice president David Drummond and entrepreneur William Maris to scour for the next big idea.

Quick - which is the fastest growing social network (aimed at teens) in the world? Facebook? Nah. It's MyYearbook which just raised $13 Million from Northwest Venture Partners. In US, MyYearbook attracts around 10 million visitors a month while Facebook attracts over 35 million and MySpace has close to 70 million.



BT buys Ribbit and guns for Android and Skype

Billing itself as Silicon Valley's first internet phone company, Ribbit's chief Ted Griggs is a happy man. BT is buying this startup for about $105 Million and Ribbit is all happy and gushing at this acquisition. BT is aiming at the bigger guns like Android and Skype with this in their kitty.

Intel Capital invests in solar startup Voltaix

Branchburg, NJ based solar startup Voltaix has received $12.5 Million in funding from Intel Capital. The company manufactures electronic chemicals and gases for chip applications. It also makes CVD precursors for production of advanced photovoltaic cells.
